Mercy, how the time is flying away! (Har just lagt ifrån mig “Dear Enemy” och är alldeles fullproppad med “engelsk brevstil”). To think, that we now are in the end of october, and the day after tomorrow it will be the first of November!! The best thing with the months running so fast is, that one have to lift one´s money (on the first day in every month, sometimes on the last day the month before), so often. And to be sure, money is always very much wanted.
Today is Elsas “namnsdag” (I dont think there is any English word for that), and she has invited us to coffee this evening. And I have only 15 öre, so I cannot buy anything to present her with. I must tell her, that I am so poor, and that she ought to have chosen her “namnsdag” on a more decent day, than in the end of the month.
Later in the night. I had no time to write any more in the afternoon, before I went to Elsa. Now Naemi and I have just returned from her. It was a rather pleasant party with tea, cakes and very good wheatbuns. She had got a lot of flowers from her comrades of the office, chrysantemums, carnations (white ones from a married man) and several more. And so the most beautiful and fine apples, which we found very edible.
Rakel and I had embroideries with us, and Elsa read from a book “Happiness and love” by Elsa Törne. We found the book very entertaining and interesting. And about 10 o’clock we said our thanks and goodbye.
Last saturday I was with Greta Nilsson to “The Cosmopolitical Club” which took place at Fräulein Schultz Nya språkskolan. There were several young, nice girls and a few men. First a French miss read about “Barbre bleu” in French, naturally. I am very sorry, but I didnt understand very much of it. Oh, how I wish that I knew as much french as english! French is such a very beautiful language!
After “Barbre bleu” Fräulein Schultz read some German anecdotes, and them I understood very well. And at last we had a little dancing and enjoyed ourselves pretty well until twelve o’clock in the night.
On sunday morning Naemi and I after breakfast started for a long promenade to Lidingön. First we went at Nysätra, where we called upon Kerstin, who not yet has leaved for Dalarna. Then we marched to the “relations” where we got the most charming coffee with buns, scones, applestart etc. After drinking it and chattering and playing piano a little we returned to the city and in the evening we visited Maja.
Yesterday we were as usual at the gymnastic. We played there also “the fox and the geese” and in the riot of the game I got a long wound on my neck by someones nails. It really hurted me rather much. But now it is better. And now I think it is best to go to bed, as it is eleven o’clock. Good night!
